The UCLA Farmers’ Market is a community event that happens every other Wednesday of the quarter, but it’s reach extends far beyond Bruin Plaza. Our aim is to educate the UCLA community about issues regarding agriculture, food systems, health, food waste, and our environment. By joining the market’s leadership team, you will be part of a group passionate about these issues, and will take a lead in organizing workshops and events to inform the UCLA community about them. We also have a blog that is meant to bring together the passions and the information that many students have about these issues into one place. Marketing and social media play integral parts in our educational outreach efforts as well, and it provides a platform for those who have creative multimedia ideas they’d like to bring to life. Moreover, we aim to provide more networking opportunities for our members by increasing our partnerships with the UCLA and the LA communities, so we can all be active participants in the movement for a sustainable and health city and campus community.
